Rainy Siagian
(b.1994) is an artist and researcher, born in Indonesia and grew up in Belgium. Her works originate from a strong interest in the theoretical, physical, ideological, political and critical meaning of what space entails. She sees ‘space’ as a subjectivity in flux. A necessity in order to function in society, and as a process of becoming.
Siagian employs the methodology of nomadic theories, which frequently explore senses of belonging. She utilizes diverse media, such as text, installations, photography, and spatial interventions. Through her practice, she investigates and challenges our perceptions and interactions with the spaces we inhabit.
Currently, she resides and works between Brussels and Reykjavik.
